Welcome to the Eyrie

“A name drawn from the noble world of birds of prey – eagles, hawks and falcons and refers to a large nest built on a hilltop from which the bird can survey its domain”

This is a place of quiet wonder – a landscape that invites stillness, reflection and solace that we choose to share with a handful of souls

Like the noble birds that survey the land, we invite you to take in the breathtaking views, feel the silence of the desert and witness the movements of the wildlife and plants from your own Eyrie

The Eyrie

The architecture is simple and grounded, allowing the surrounding landscape to remain the primary presence.

Inside, the spaces are pared back and calm. Light shifts slowly across the walls.

At the heart of the cottage is a shared open-plan space that brings together kitchen and lounge opening onto a terrace overlooking the Namib desert. This central room is generous and quiet, allowing for cooking, resting, reading, or working. The Eyrie consists of two modestly sized rooms, each with its own private bathroom.

The Architecture

The Eyrie is for those who feel the need to step back and live quietly for a while. It suits individuals, couples, friends, or families who are comfortable with stillness and simplicity — people who are less interested in doing and more interested in being. Days here are unstructured and slow, shaped by light, appetite, and rest rather than schedules or activities.

There is little here to distract or entertain. Time is the offering. Walks unfold without destination, meals are cooked without urgency, and rest is taken seriously. Guests may choose to explore the surrounding landscape by vehicle. These drives are unstructured and quiet, marked by vast horizons, and at times, sightings of free-roaming wildlife.

The Eyrie is shaped for staying, not passing through. A minimum stay of six nights applies, allowing the first layers of busyness to fall away and a different rhythm to emerge. The Eyrie is serviced daily. For those who prefer not to be disturbed, this can be adjusted to suit individual preferences.

A place to dwell

The Eyrie is offered on either a stocked, self-catering or a purely self-catering basis. The kitchen is fully equipped, designed to support unhurried, everyday cooking.

When booked on a stocked, self-catering basis, food is thoughtfully discussed and prepared in advance, with menus shaped in consultation with guests and stocked according to individual dietary preferences.

The food is simple, nourishing, and considered, allowing daily life to unfold without the need to plan. Cooking becomes part of the rhythm of the day rather than a task, integrated quietly into the slower pace of living.

Living sustainably

Here exists a quiet relationship with the land and the life it supports.

The Eyrie is powered entirely by solar energy, with water drawn from a borehole and used with care. These systems are not presented as features, but as necessities — allowing human presence to remain light and responsible within a fragile environment.
